If you are a physical or occupational therapist serving clients post-stroke, consider participating in DMU’s seventh annual Stroke Camp on campus Aug. 20-24. You can make a powerful difference to patients and students while learning and earning
up to four continuing education contact hours for yourself.
Encourage your patients to participate in this free event, too. Intensive, individualized physical therapy can help stroke survivors improve their gait, balance, strength and dexterity. Your patients will work with a team of D.P.T. students, faculty and supervising physicians who will plan sessions customized to meet their needs. Each participant also will receive a post-camp home exercise plan.
In addition, by joining the camp for a day or more as a supervising clinician, you will benefit patients with stroke and enjoy the rewards of making an invaluable contribution to D.P.T. students. They are excited to learn and practice in this experience; the more supervising therapists at the camp, the more students we can have participate.
