Jesse Plasencia, D.P.M.’89

Jesse Plasencia, D.P.M.’89, was selected to receive the 2018 Helen Cearlock Award from VNA Health Care in Chicago. The Cearlock Award is VNA’s highest level of employee recognition. It is presented annually to a VNA employee who expresses the spirit of Helen Cearlock, a nurse educator and former VNA Board chairman. Employees are nominated by their peers for the award for demonstrating commitment to the purpose and vision of VNA, community education and advocacy in promoting health to the community, and the highest of personal standards in the areas of caring, loyalty, ethics, truth and fairness. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee comprised mostly of former award recipients. Plasencia completed his residency at Westside V.A. Medical Center in Chicago. He is board-certified and joined the VNA team of providers in 2013. VNA Health Care operates 10 clinics in suburban Chicago and serves more than 72,000 people a year.
