Jon Van Der Veer, D.O.’09, in January 2019 opened Exemplar Care, a direct primary care practice in West Des Moines. He and his practice were featured as the cover story of the Sept. 13, 2019, Des Moines Business Record. Previously, he was the regional medical officer for CareMore Health’s Iowa operation and, before that, vice president of medical affairs for Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, IA. He started his career as an internist with UnityPoint Health.
