David Stark, M.A., FACHE, president and chief executive officer of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, joined the DMU Board of Trustees this summer.
Stark began working at UnityPoint Health – Des Moines in 1995. Since that time, he has held multiple positions throughout the organization including chief operating officer at Iowa Lutheran Hospital; president and chief operating officer for Blank Children’s Hospital; and executive vice president and chief operating officer for UnityPoint Health – Des Moines. He took his current position in July 2018.
Retired from the DMU Board is Bernard Feldman, D.O.’80, FACG. A physician with MercyOne Gastroenterology Care Clinic in central Iowa, he joined the board in September 2008. He chaired the board’s Institutional Advancement Committee from 2012 to 2015 and was vice chair of the Audit/Compliance Committee from 2016 to 2019.
Feldman was named the College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumnus of the Year in 2010. He and his wife, Ava Feldman, D.O.’83, founder of Heartland Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center PC in Clive, IA, established the Bernard and Ava Feldman Scholarship to benefit students in the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
