Jasmina Salcinovic-Spahic, M.H.A.’18, DMSc, MMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, shared her experiences as a child in Bosnia during the Bosnian War (April 1992-December 1995), her path to becoming a physician assistant and the dedication she feels to her patients and her profession in a feature story posted Jan. 8, 2021, on the website of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She and her family emigrated to the United States in May 1997, and she has been a practicing PA for 12 years. She works in medical hematology/oncology at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines.
