Do you need the vaccine if you’ve already had Covid and presumably you already have the antibodies?
The short answer is yes, you do. SARS-CoV-2 loves to mutate, and that’s the big thing.
If you’ve had Covid, you have the antibodies to the version that you had, but you don’t have antibodies for the versions that are coming up. The vaccine works in a way that allows your body to prepare for the versions coming up as well. And that’s why it’s so important for people who have had Covid to get the vaccine so that you can prevent future versions of Covid, which are almost certainly coming.
