Kelsey Millonig, D.P.M.’17, M.P.H.’17, was among the individuals featured in June by Podiatry Today in an article titled “Women in Podiatry: Celebrating the Changemakers.” She is the first-ever podiatric professional to be selected as a research intern at the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland; also as a podiatric medical student, she founded Podiatric Medicine Advocacy, an organization to promote the profession and work toward parity, that now is an integral part of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Now a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon with the East Village Foot and Ankle Surgeons in Des Moines, Millonig also served as a global health medical services provider in several countries including the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project and Uganda Clubfoot Care Project. She also has achieved leadership positions or committee appointments in organizations including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American Public Health Association, American Podiatric Medical Association and the American Association for Women Podiatrists.
