Tony Smith, D.O.’94

Tony Smith, D.O.’94, was appointed vice president and medical director at Mutual of Omaha headquartered in Omaha, NE. In that role, he creates and develops medical policy as well as provides oversight and management of strategic and day-to-day elements of the medical review of disability claims, products, consultations and medical triage in the Workplace Solutions strategic business unit. Previously, Smith was a physician in the U.S. Air Force. He has experience as a family medicine physician in private practice and emergency medicine with EmCare at the Erlanger Health System headquartered in Chattanooga, TN. Smith was most recently a medical consultant at Unum, an insurance company in Chattanooga.
