Seth Quam, D.O., a board-certified family medicine physician, joined the Des Moines University Clinic — Family Medicine, 3200 Grand Ave., Des Moines, as a clinician and assistant professor of osteopathic clinical medicine. He previously practiced at UnityPoint Family Medicine in Grimes, Iowa.

“I am excited to join the DMU Clinic to continue my passion for patient care combined with teaching,” he says. “I believe patient wellness begins before the doctor’s office and extends well after the visit, and I enjoy figuring out the best way to make that work for all of my patients.”
A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Quam has served as a precepting physician for third-year medical students for more than a decade. He also has been a volunteer sports medicine provider for Dallas Center-Grimes and Woodward-Granger schools since 2012.
Quam earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, with a Spanish minor, at Central College and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Des Moines University. He completed his family medicine residency at Des Moines’ Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
