Thomas Cavalieri, D.O.’76, MACOI, FACP, AGSF, was included in the “2024 Health Care Power” list of NJBIZ, a New Jersey-based business publication. The list honors individuals who have gained public attention and acclaim for their professional accomplishments and public service. Dean of the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ, Cavalieri is also the inaugural senior vice president of the Virtua Health College of Medicine and Life Sciences of Rowan University and chief academic officer of Virtua Health. He is founding director of the Center of Aging, which has grown into the Rowan-Virtua New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging, and has received numerous awards for his advocacy for osteopathic medical education and patient care. His many leadership roles include as a member of the board of directors of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education; secretarial appointee of the National Academic Affiliations Council with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; and chair of the board of deans with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2023, he received AACOM’s Dale S. Dodson, D.O., Award and was named the College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumnus of the Year by DMU.
