Alton Johnson, D.P.M., DABPM, FACPM, FASPS, CWSP, joined the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in 2023 as an affiliate faculty member. He is a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery specializing in disorders of the foot and ankle. 

Dr. Johnson is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and as a wound care specialist by the American Board of Wound Management. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University and completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in Miami. He also completed a fellowship in podiatric clinical research and wound care at Penn Medicine-University of the Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia.
