Jorge Amaro, D.P.M.’19, joined the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in 2023 as an affiliate faculty member. He is a podiatric physician at the Foot and Ankle Center of Nebraska and Iowa, where he specializes in foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Amaro is board-eligible by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Des Moines University. He completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
