Dr. Meyer joined the Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences department microbiology, immunology and pathology in May 2024. She received her B.S. in genetics, cell biology and development from the University of Minnesota and Ph.D. in molecular cell biology from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Meyer completed her postdoctoral training at La Jolla Institute for Immunology. Her research program focuses on innate immune cells, specifically neutrophils, in health and cancer. She provides immunology instruction for DMU’s D.O., D.P.M., D.P.T., PA, M.S.B.S. and Ph.D. programs.
